The 2026/27 rates it uses

The ACC earner's levy is 1.75% of your pay (up from 1.67%), on earnings up to $156,641. KiwiSaver employer contributions are at least 3.5% on top of your pay and are not part of your take-home.
What it does not include
- Student loan repayments.
- Secondary tax codes for a second job, or special tax codes.
- Working for Families, the Independent Earner Tax Credit and other tax credits.
- Other income such as interest, dividends or rental income.

Did the tax rates change on 1 April 2026?
No. The five tax brackets are the same as last year. What changed is the ACC earner's levy and the KiwiSaver minimum rate.
What is the ACC earner's levy?
A levy that pays for accident cover. It comes out of your pay along with your tax.
